Rick was introduced to Martial arts at an early age (11) when studies in Karate began. His interest in Martial Arts has taken him to study various arts and achieve high level ranking in these arts. Current rankings are as follows:

      Rick has also been an avid student of the Philipino Martial arts and dedicated years to the study of Pekiti Tirsia Kali (Stick, hand and knife fighting) to help round out his martial exposure. Firearms’ training is a staple in Rick’s arsenal of martial strategy. He has attained Advanced Certifications in the tactical use of handguns, shotguns and rifles alike under world renowned Tactical Instructors such as Brian Hoffner and John Farnam, Jeff Hall, Sonny Puzikas, Mark Human and others. He is the lead firearms instructor for Integrity Defensive Solutions.


     Rick is Founder and owner (Dojo Cho) of Integrity Defensive Arts, Martial Arts School in Victoria, Texas. The school offers multidisciplinary training in the above mentioned arts for all ages. He has extensive experience as a trainer in the field of Martial Arts as seminar trainer and guest Instructor at other schools. IDA is also an adjunct training ground for Law Enforcement officials of various backgrounds and the Victoria Police Academy.


     Rick has also worked in the counseling profession as a Licensed Professional Counselor for well over three decades. He is the Co-founder of New Beginnings Counseling Clinic in Victoria, Texas. The University of Houston-Victoria retains Rick as an Adjunct Professor teaching Self Defense through the Kinesiology Department.


     Rick has been a Student of Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai, in a small closed study group currently led by Jose Lopez, Sensei who is a Senior Student of Okamoto Seigo, Soshi, founder of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai. The Roppokai Study group is authorized by Soshi Seigo Okamoto from Tokyo, Japan and is supervised by the Regional leader of the Southern USA Regional Headquarters of the Roppokai, Jose E. Lopez (4th dan, Jun Dairi Kyoju) from Ft. Worth, Texas. Rick was awarded his Shodan Level promotion (1st degree Black Belt) on November 2012. This promotion was approved by Okamoto Sensei and presented by Lopez Sensei at a Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu training seminar in Houston, Texas.


     Torres Sensei has also been a student of San Shin Kai Iaido. Integrity Defensive Arts was an extension group of the Houston, Texas San Shin Kai group under the leadership of Craig Hocker, Sensei.


     Torres Sensei has been an avid practitioner of the Filipino Arts and has actively studied Pekiti Tirsia

( Philippine southern style empty hand, stick and knife fighting system) with Garcia Shihan and SEAMOK founded by Maestro Micheal Blackgrave. He was promoted to the rank of Guro-Level 4 Practitioner on December of 2012 in Victoria Texas.

Tuesday & Thursday:

• 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm for intermediate and advanced students

(Kyu Shin Ryu/MMA)

• 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm (Aikido)


Saturday:
• 9:00 am to 10:00 am Beginners and new students (Judo/Jujitsu/Karate)

• 10:00 am to 11:00 am for intermediate and advanced students (Kyu Shin Ryu)

ABOUT INTEGRITY DEFENSIVE ARTS


Integrity Defensive Arts is multidisciplinary school that gives students the opportunity to learn the following arts in a comprehensive manner: Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Karate/Kickboxing, Filipino Martial Arts (stick and knife fighting), and the practice of traditional and contemporary weapons. Our Primary system is Kyu Shin Ryu which is an eclectic art comprised of traditional and contemporary training and fighting methods.

Our facility is a 2,300 sq. ft. facility that is completely climate-controlled and fully handicap accessible. We are located in Victoria, Texas.
